Mitsubshi L200 Owners Club
I started the Website as non-commercial users were beginning to buy these so called 'life-style' vehicles as a viable alternative to estate cars and other mainstream 4x4s. I, like many others, found there was little or no support for them - people were having problems with insurance, dealing with the VAT situation, servicing grey imports, where to actually use them off-road and where to buy parts & accessories. I felt that as a non-commercial user I was getting a poor deal - most insurance companies said they wouldn't insure me as it was a commercial vehicle nevermind what I intended to use it for.
We welcome all Mitsubishi L200 models Single, Club & Doublecabs - All owners, anywhere in the World. The Mitsubishi L200 has been with us for over 20 years, it has been voted Best Pick-up many times. Pick-up trucks were once the preserve of builders, workmen and farmers, used solely for getting the job done. These days, they're still getting the job done but, are being marketed as lifestyle vehicles, vehicles to work from during the week and use like a estate car at the weekends. The Mitsubishi L200 has proved capable both on and off road and comes with high equipment levels and cabin comfort on a par with many passenger cars. The Mitsubishi L200 is spacious, comfortable, safe and nowadays fairly quick. We raise money for two charities - Help4Heroes & the Macmillan Cancer Charity. Some of our members took part in last year's Help For Heroes Rally and the Macmillan run and will be taking part again in 2012. The Mitsubishi L200 Owners Club Membership fee is a one-off payment.
Our website is www.l200.org.uk We'll have a Mitsubishi L200 which has numerous off road modifications on our stand at the show.

Arctic Heroes Challenge
The ‘Arctic Heroes Challenge’ and will take place in January 2013. It involves driving from the UK and crossing the Arctic Circle at 66 33’ 39” N in the northern region of Norway and pushing further north to reach Nordkapp (North Cape). This final destination is Europe’s northernmost point on land at 71 01’08”N leaving only the Svalbard Islands to separate us from the Polar Ice Cap in the Arctic Ocean and the North Pole itself. The challenge will take place at the most treacherous time of the year when temperatures are normally averaging minus 20 degrees celsius. If that was hard enough, we plan to wild camp on route as we make our way to the northern tip of Europe. We believe this challenge embraces the true spirit of British adventure and will directly benefit real Heroes. The sole charity to benefit from the Arctic Heroes Challenge to the Arctic Circle will be Help for Heroes.

Soldiers Off The Street
We are a pro-active charity that helps ex-servicemen and women who have fallen on hard times and ended up living on the streets of the UK. These are men and women that have served our country in many different conflicts such as Iraq, Afghanistan and The Falklands to mention just a few. Many of the guys that have ended up homeless have serious health problems ranging from mental health issues to physical injuries.
How do we help? As i have already stated we are a very pro-active charity and as such we have out reach workers throughout the UK. What we do as a charity is actually go out on the streets (and also in woods, canals etc) and search for our homeless ex military. Once we find someone it is not just a simple case of re-housing them, we have to get them to trust us first. This can be started by a simple act of providing a hot drink and somewhere to sit and talk about things. We then start to form a relationship with them, and were we can, initially help out by providing warm clean clothing, washing and shaving equipment etc. Once we have gained their trust and have ascertained where their problems lie, we can then start the process of re-integrating them back into society. We liaise with many other charities such as Combat Stress, Talking to Minds, SSAFA and the British Legion as these charities are also there to help, but specialise in their own areas. As the process continues and we have referred people to the various other bodies, we then start to look for accommodation and employment opportunities. We do not stop there we offer support to all we help on an adhoc ongoing basis were they can call us anytime even if it is just for a chat, but most of all we do monitor all the people we help and try to make sure they stay off the street. Our objective at the moment is to purchase a further 5 outreach vehicles so we can open up 5 more areas throughout the UK and inevitably help get our Soldiers off the Street.
